Supporting the Recycled Teenagers Club in Slough
Cardo recently partnered with the Recycled Teenagers Club in Slough to help deliver a lively lunch for over 60 older members of the community.
Organised by the Slough Business Community Partnership, Cardo volunteers Gurinder Sidhu and Carol Brown prepared and served a two-course meal, provided table service, and assisted with cleanup. They also answered residents’ questions about repairs and planned works, hosted a quiz with branded giveaways, and handed out Cardo trolley coin keyrings to every guest.
The Recycled Teenagers Club is a charity supporting over-55s through weekly meals, coffee mornings, and events designed to reduce loneliness and promote wellbeing.
Lin Smeaton, spokesperson for the club, said:
“We were thrilled to have the Cardo volunteers join us. It’s always encouraging when a local business or organisation steps forward to support a grassroots charity like ours, contributing meaningfully and reminding our members that they’re part of a wider community that cares.”
James Cook, Managing Director at Cardo (South & Central), added:
“It was a real privilege for our volunteers to spend time with such a vibrant and welcoming community. The work Recycled Teenagers does to tackle social isolation and build connections in the area is vital, and we’re proud to support that effort in any way we can.
We believe in actively supporting the communities we serve, not just through our work, but through genuine engagement with local people and causes. We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of a positive, uplifting day.”
