Empowering the Future: Cardo Group’s Commitment to Developing Young Tradespeople

Cardo Group is thrilled to welcome three new apprentices to our Slough team, each eager to build skills and pursue qualifications in their chosen trades. These apprentices Rehaan (Electrical), Owen (Plumbing), and Alfie (Plumbing) joined Cardo through our Work Experience Program, a hands-on initiative where each initially gained valuable insight into their trades. After positive first placements, all three were excited to return to Cardo for their apprenticeships, joining our team to deepen their learning and career potential.

Plumbing Apprentice Owen, is looking forward to building his teamwork and communication skills with guidance from his mentor Jitesh, who shared his passion for passing on skills, “I hope to teach Owen about the plumbing trade and also help him build customer service skills so he can work confidently with the public.”

Similarly, Electrical Apprentice Rehaan is enthusiastic about completing his qualifications with support from mentor Paul, who recognised Rehaan’s commitment to learning early on and is keen to help him reach his potential. “The industry needs more qualified and dedicated electricians,” Paul noted, “and Rehaan is well on his way.”

Plumbing Apprentice Alfie, mentored by Ahmed, also brings enthusiasm to the team. Ahmed remarked on Alfie’s positive attributes, “He’s polite, punctual, and a quick learner along with great plumbing skills, he’s also learning to handle challenging customer situations.”

These mentors are not only teaching technical skills but also instilling values of customer service, communication, and professionalism, ensuring that Cardo apprentices are well-prepared to excel in the industry.

Service Delivery Manager Nathan commended the apprentices’ initiative, stating,

“It’s fantastic that we have these young people starting their journey with us. They’ve shown real enthusiasm and commitment, and we’re proud to support their development as they gain experience with our skilled team.”

Cardo’s apprenticeship program exemplifies our commitment to community investment and industry excellence. By offering young people structured pathways into skilled trades, Cardo is actively shaping the future of the sector, building a knowledgeable, capable team that will continue our legacy of high-quality service. Nathan extended his gratitude to all mentors involved, saying, “A big thank you to our mentors who are willing to share their skills and knowledge to guide our next generation of operatives.
