EBP St Anselms career fair
Thank you so much for attending the St Anselm’s Catholic School’s Exhibition Fair yesterday, on the 22nd April 2026. This is an event we have put on for the school, many times over the years, trying to improve each one for both the visitors and the students in attendance. Yesterday, in line with new government careers directives, saw the sticker system implemented to encourage and improve student engagement, ensuring they would reflect later, the many conversations they had. Also, the event was timed to be delivered just before the Year 9 option evening, to better inform the subject choices they make. With all of that, I cannot thank you enough for giving up your time to support so many young people on this important journey. We keep trying to improve these events, as we know how valuable your time is and yesterday was such an incredible example of amazing people from the local community and beyond giving so much to so many young people.
My apologies for the logistical difficulties regarding the parking and for anyone who had trouble locating the field. As always, we will endeavour to improve this for the next event and will take on any feedback we have received from your evaluations to try to improve the experience further. Teaching staff were so pleased to see their students in a different setting, having conversations and feeling energised at the thought of where their career might lie. As previously mentioned, the school will do work with them over the next couple of weeks to link it to each student’s pathway plan.
As you can imagine, the positivity from the school is reflected in the evaluations:
96% of all students evaluated found the event to be a useful experience. 90% said that they were able to talk to people about the areas that they were interested in and about apprenticeships, training providers and universities. 94% commented that they understand more about the potential opportunities available within a sector that they are interested in. Finally, 56% felt that the event had helped them to make an important decision regarding their future career (understandably, others said that they need more time before making that final decision).
