Connecting People with Employment Opportunities

On 22 July, Cardo supported Seetec’s CFO Programme at the CFO Activity Hub in Bristol, alongside DWP and other construction employers.

Organised by Lucy Wigglesworth, the session provided an opportunity to meet several Seetec service users, including prison leavers and people currently on parole, and explore how Cardo could help support them into sustainable, long-term employment.

The session focused on understanding individuals’ skills, experience and aspirations, while looking at Cardo’s current vacancies and future employment opportunities that could provide a pathway into the construction and housing maintenance sector. We also explored the potential for work experience placements where appropriate, helping individuals to build confidence, gain practical experience and develop the skills needed for employment.

The session was a valuable example of partnership working in action, bringing together employers, DWP and Seetec to help remove barriers to employment and support people towards positive, long-term career opportunities.
