Cardo supported Slough Mencap’s Party In The Park, an event held every year for service users to socialise, dance and play games! Slough Mencap provides support and services to people with learning disabilities and their families in the Slough area. The charity is committed to promoting inclusion, independence, and choice for people with learning disabilities. Their annual party is one of many initiatives aimed at improving the lives of its members.
This year, Cardo’s team of volunteers provided entertainment and activities for the attendees, including a hoopla games stand, offering sensory toys as free prizes. Cardo also created custom-built ‘stocks’ specifically for the event which gave Slough Mencap members a go at throwing wet sponges at our daring volunteers. This created a lot of fun and laughter, whilst adding to the festive atmosphere of the evening filled with music and festivities.
Cardo recognises the importance of supporting the wellbeing of people with learning disabilities. Our team of valued volunteers gave up their Saturday to engage with Slough Mencap members, creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all.
