Cardo Group enhances our Mechanical, Electrical and Renewables capacity

Cardo Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of Tim O’Brien (Newport) Ltd (TOB), an established mechanical and electrical (M&E) and renewables company operating in South Wales and South West England.

As well as M&E, TOB brings strong in-house capabilities across renewable energy and E.V charging solutions. This will further advance our ability to provide comprehensive renewable solutions through an enhanced team of in-house experts.

This follows our acquisition of Cardiff-based property maintenance and refurbishment company, A&N Lewis Limited, earlier in the year and confirms our position as the leading provider of social housing property maintenance and improvements in Wales.

TOB was established in 2001 and has built a strong reputation for its expertise in energy-efficient technologies and delivery of a full range of mechanical, electrical, solar, battery storage, and E.V. charging solutions for the commercial, social housing, local authority, education and construction sectors.

Gareth Thomas, Managing Director of TOB, will support the transition into Cardo Group over the next few months before leaving. We are grateful to him for giving us this support at a key time.

Gareth Thomas said: “It has been my pleasure to lead TOB over the past 2 years.  I am grateful to everyone at TOB for the great work they deliver every day.  Cardo’s team in Wales and the South West have been valued clients of ours so we know them well and share their customer-focused values. I’m confident that the TOB team will thrive in the Cardo Group where they will sit alongside like-minded energy efficiency and retrofit specialists. I know they will all thrive there and thank them all for the great work they do every day.

“I am also grateful to our supply chain partners who have helped us enormously over the years and I know my TOB and new Cardo colleagues will continue to value your assistance. My gratitude also goes to our valued clients with whom we look forward to working for many years to come.”

Simon Will, Cardo’s Executive Director (Operations), welcomed TOB to the Group: “We have worked closely with TOB over many years as a valued part of the LCB supply chain.  We warmly welcome Alyn Jenkins, Mechanical Contracts Manager, and Jed Whitehead, Electrical Contracts Manager, along with everyone at TOB to Cardo. Their expertise in the installation of renewable solutions as well as gas and electrical capabilities will help us provide a direct delivery solution across our M&E and retrofit services.”
