The City Art Project
We’re always looking for opportunities to work with our supply chain partners to create a positive impact within the communities where we work, and our recent support from Crown Paints is a great example of how a simple donation can go a long way. Crown Paints generously donated 40 x 5-litre tubs of grey masonry paint to Cardo, which we were then able to donate to The City Art Project to support the MOS Cardiff event. The City Art Project uses creativity and art to bring people together and help transform community spaces, and the donated paint provided a valuable resource to support the project.
What made this even more valuable was the opportunity to make sure the materials continued to have a purpose beyond the initial project. The surplus paint was subsequently donated to Ty Gwyn Special School, where it could be used to support improvements within the school environment. This meant that one supply chain donation was able to support two different community initiatives, while also helping to ensure that surplus materials were not left unused.
For us, this is a really positive example of what can be achieved through strong supply chain partnerships. Social value isn’t always about large financial contributions. Sometimes, it’s about looking at the resources and materials that are already available and finding meaningful opportunities to put them to good use.
The support from Crown Paints has helped us contribute to community art through The City Art Project, while also providing a valuable resource to Ty Gwyn Special School, creating a wider impact from a single donation. A huge thank you to Crown Paints for their generosity and for supporting us to find opportunities where their products can create a benefit beyond their original purpose.
It’s a great reminder that when we work together with our supply chain, we can find simple and practical ways to create lasting social value, support local communities and make sure resources go further.
