Cardo had the pleasure of supporting local non-profit organisation Ways into Work with their Mock Interview Day on Tuesday 21stApril. The initiative was organised by Ways into Work to help the progression of young Wokingham jobseekers on their Supported Internship Programme in the search for suitable employment. Four young local residents eager to improve their interview skills and ultimately their job prospects were booked in at 30-minute intervals. The candidates possessed diverse previous experiences and were seeking entry level roles in a variety of sectors which ranged from retail, horticulture, IT and Health & Fitness.
Ways into Work is a long‑established supported employment charity operating across Berkshire and the wider South East region, with dedicated services for residents in Wokingham. Its mission is “Changing Lives, One Job at a Time”. Ways into Work supports people who face barriers to employment, particularly disability, long‑term health conditions or mental health challenges to gain and sustain paid work.
Representing Cardo and keen to add value to this commendable event was Elias Osman – Social Value Manager.
The structure of the day was as follows:
- 30-minute interview
- 5-minute instant feedback, encouragement and discussion
- 10-minute feedback form for each candidate
This initiative demonstrates Cardo’s dedication to ensuring community inclusion and the progression of local residents into sustainable employment via effective employability assistance.
