Cardo launches Social Housing Consumer Standards Awareness Training

Cardo is proud to announce the launch of its Social Housing Consumer Standards Awareness Training, a new learning resource designed to help housing professionals understand the Social Housing Consumer Standards and what they mean in practice.

The training was officially launched at a special event at the House of Lords by Jane Nelson, Executive Chair of Cardo, and Alison Inman, Chair of TPAS, bringing together clients, residents, partners and colleagues from across the housing sector.

Developed by Cardo with support from TPAS, particularly Adam Clarke, and informed by feedback from local tenant groups, clients and sector partners. Their insight has helped ensure the content is practical, engaging, and reflective of the real experiences and challenges faced across the housing sector.

Through real-life scenarios, case studies and practical examples, the training explores how the Consumer Standards apply in everyday roles and demonstrates how everyone has a part to play in delivering safe, transparent and customer-focused services that improve outcomes for residents.

The launch event celebrated the importance of collaboration across the sector and highlighted the shared commitment to embedding the Consumer Standards into everyday behaviours and decision-making.

Speaking about the launch, Jane Nelson, Executive Chair at Cardo, said:

“The Consumer Standards are about much more than compliance. They are about creating a culture where residents are listened to, treated with respect and receive high-quality services. By investing in learning and sharing best practice, we can help strengthen customer experience across our sector and continue to improve outcomes for residents.”

Cardo would like to thank TPAS, local tenant groups, clients and all those who contributed their time and expertise throughout the development of the training. Their feedback has helped create a learning resource that reflects the realities of delivering services and supports organisations in embedding the Consumer Standards with confidence.

The Social Housing Consumer Standards Awareness Training is now available to access here: Social Housing Industry_Consumer Standards Training.

Cardo looks forward to continuing to work with clients, residents and partners to support the ongoing implementation of the Consumer Standards and drive continuous improvement across the housing sector.
