We are currently looking for a Multi Trade Operative to join our team covering the Slough/Langley area.
To carry out high-quality repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works across a range of trades within social housing properties, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused service delivery to tenants and residents.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Undertake multi-trade repair and maintenance works within occupied and void properties, communal areas, and external spaces.
- Carry out a wide range of trade skills including (but not limited to) carpentry, plumbing, plastering, painting & decorating, tiling, basic electrical, and general building repairs.
- Diagnose and assess required works on-site, ensuring correct materials, tools, and methods are used.
- Complete jobs efficiently to a high standard, achieving first-time fixes wherever possible.
- Ensure works comply with current health & safety regulations, building standards, and organisational policies.
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including job sheets, timesheets, and materials used.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating clearly and respectfully with residents.
- Report safeguarding concerns, property hazards, or tenancy-related issues encountered during visits.
- Participate in the out-of-hours emergency repairs rota (if required).
- Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained, safe, and used appropriately.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in multi-trade property maintenance, ideally in a social housing or residential environment.
- NVQ or City & Guilds in a core trade.
- Strong skills in at least two core trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, plastering) with ability to undertake basic works across others.
- Good knowledge of health & safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
