An example of a major planned maintenance project is Coombe House in Shaftsbury. This £7 million project started in 2023 and took 2-years to complete. The project entailed comprehensively regenerating a 19th-century residential building and multiple homes (flats) within. This undertaking involved restoring its architectural features, carefully preserving its original charm and character and modernising the interior to meet contemporary living standards and provide great homes.

The project encompasses multiple workstreams:

  • Roofing: Full roof replacement using sustainable materials with enhanced insulation properties, fascias, soffits and guttering.
  • Windows/Glazing: Replacement of 50 double-glazed timber box sash windows across the building.
  • Doors: Installation of 75 fire-rated entrance doors and frames.
  • External Works: Concrete repair, paving and fencing.
  • Mechanical and Electrical (M&E): Installation of new heating systems and LED lighting upgrades in communal areas.
  • Internal Refurbishment: Redecoration of communal areas, including hallways and lobbies.
