We are currently looking for a PMO to join our IT team.
This is a remote role but you will need to be able to travel to any of our offices when required. Our main office is in Cardiff.
Role Overview
The PMO Manager is responsible for overseeing and delivering a variety of projects, both directly and via a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts (rebrand of acquisitions, mobilisation of new contracts, implementation of core IT systems, development of core IT systems). The role also manages our business analysis function across the Group and will work closely with the IT Systems Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Lead your team providing direction, mentorship, and support to Project Managers and Business Analysts fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Develop and implement robust project methodologies, and best practices to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and execute change management strategies to support project success.
Project Management
- Directly manage key projects (planning, execution, and delivery).
- Collaborate, coordinate and communicate with internal teams, suppliers and clients to ensure smooth execution of transformation projects.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of other projects, and assist with governance, documentation and issue or conflict resolution.
Business Analysis
- Manage the Business Analyst function, ensuring that regional business requirements are accurately captured and delivered.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance business performance.
- Facilitate communication between Business Analysts, Project Managers and the wider IT teams to ensure clear understanding of project goals and requirements.
Governance and Reporting
- Establish and maintain a robust project governance framework in line with accepted project management methodologies.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, budget, risks, and issues.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.
Qualifications:
- You will be an experienced Project Manager, ideally with a degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, project management qualifications, or qualifications in a related field but this is not essential as the ability to deliver multiple projects is more important.
- You can demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team. As an excellent communicator with stakeholder management skills, you can take multiple projects from inception to completion with priorities changing at short notice.
- Experience of line managing a team would be beneficial (be that a team of Project Managers, Business Analysts or other similar roles).
Key Competencies:
- Programme or project management working on multiple projects with cross-functional teams.
- Communication to ensure all parts of the business, supplier and customers are aware of current and future projects.
- Leadership of a team and development of skills within that team.
